Violinist Lucia Veintimilla feels equally at home performing with historical and modern instruments as a recitalist, chamber musician and concerto soloist. She has given concerts in every major country in Europe and Asia and is regularly invited to participate in music festivals around the world. Lucia has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Spanish National Radio and TV and has been featured in  “Art On The Move”, a book portraying 50 Spanish Artists based in London. 

Her debut album -Origins-, comprinsing solo violin pieces by Dario Marianelli, Francisco Coll and Jorge Muñiz commissioned and dedicated to Lucía, has been recently published on the Aria Classics record label, experiencing a excellent reception from the public and critics. Several relevant agencies, newspapers, radio, TV -such as EFE, Europa Press, TVE, La Vanguardia, A punt, Ritmo, Todo la Música, Scherzo, Mundo Clásico, or the Parisian magazine “Art de Vivre” - have portrayed and praised the album. Origins has been the protagonist of several music radio shows, including La Dársena and Ojo Crítico of RNE. Lucia’s previously released album with Deco Ensemble has been praised as, “[…] absolutely wonderful and even breathtaking at times, both due to the excellent selection of material and of course by the masterful execution by these virtuosi players”.

She has received numerous awards and scholarships, including the British-Spanish Society Centenary Award, the Elizabeth Sweeting Award, BBVA and Leverhulme Scholarships and the Wolfson Foundation Instrument Award, which enabled her to commission a violin to be made by the renowned Spanish luthier, Jardon Rico.

She has collaborated with acclaimed orchestras and conductors which include; the London Symphony Orchestra, The London Mozart Players, The Academy of Ancient Music, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra or the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment with Sir Simon Rattle, Valerie Gergiev, Marin Alsop, Vladimir Jurowski, Antonio Pappano, Gianandrea Noseda, Elim Cham or Richard Egarr, amongst others.

Lucia started learning the violin at the age of four and some years later she moved to England where she completed her Bachelors and Masters degrees with Distinction at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.

Lucía's recent performances include concerts for the British Spanish Society and the Spanish Embassador in the UK in London, at the Princess of Asturias Awards, Botín Foundation and at International chamber music festivals in Oviedo, CIMCO and SACO. In addition to recitals at the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall, at the Mozarthaus Hall in Vienna, Barbican and Milton Court in London and at music festivals in England, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, South Korea, Germany and Belgium.

Lucia is also the founder and artistic director of La Serranía Festival, a yearly chamber music festival taking place in the mountains of Valencia (Spain).
